But for one AMA member, one of his creations is expected to do the same—except its maiden flight will take place on planet Mars.   April Is Volunteer Month Volunteerism runs deep among AMA members. It has been a foundation of our organization’s success in many forms, going back to when it was established in 1936. Mike Barbee, an RC Scale pilot and builder, donated money to the AMA to create one concrete pad at each of those sites. AMA officials hope to create pavilions on the pads if more funds are donated.Grant Updates Both the Take off And Grow (TAG) Grant and the Flying Site Improvement Grant have been reviewed by their corresponding judging committees. All applications are now being compiled and are in the next phase of the process. The AMA Executive Council will approve the final results before they are shared and individual clubs are notified of their results. Clubs should expect to hear whether they are a grant recipient in early May.It’s Time to Register for the 2021 Nats Online registration for the 2021 Indoor and Outdoor Nats is open.
